After obtaining a Masters Degree in Mathematics, I taught high school mathematics and physics for 5 years. I then went into the insurance business and became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. I worked for several different companies in the Chicago area for 32 years.
I started collecting transportation tokens in the early 1980s. Joel Reznick while he was working in downtown Chicago started me off by selling me several hundred 16 mm. tokens. I purchased additional tokens at the Niles Illinois Leaning Tower YMCA monthly coin show from the late AVA members Ben Odesser and Al Kramer.
Because of family illnesses, I stopped collecting for a few years but became actively engaged again in the early 1990s and have not stopped ever since.
